Richard Turner to display photography work at SUNY Adirondack student exhibition

2012 Nov 29

SUNY Adirondack will host "Through Their Eyes Through Our Eyes," a photography exhibit featuring the work of students in Dr. Renee O'Brien's intermediate photography class, from Dec. 11 through Dec. 13 in the Student Center lounge on the Bay Road campus.

Richard Turner of Queensbury, NY, will be among the student exhibitors.

A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m. in the SUNY Adirondack Student Center.

Refreshments will be provided by the Faculty-Student Association of SUNY Adirondack.

The exhibit will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free.

"Through Their Eyes Through Our Eyes" is the culminating project for the intermediate photography class. Students in this class have completed at least one course in photography and have demonstrated proficiency in traditional film processing as well as digital photography and the digital darkroom. Intermediate Photography builds upon technique, aesthetics, and creative expression in the photographic arts.

In preparation for their photographs, students explored a variant of photographic genres. They also studied contemporary photography as an art form and the ways in which the artist-photographer builds upon the integrity of the photographic image, and at other times breaks boundaries.
