Coleman Akey, SUNY Adirondack's Men's Soccer Team Reach MVCC Semifinals

The nationally-ranked SUNY Adirondack men's soccer team placed four players on the 2012 Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference (MVCC) All-Conference Team.

The Timberwolves ended their regular season ranked #8 in the country among Division III junior college teams. The team set a school record in wins by going 14-1 during the regular season, its only loss coming at the hands of national powerhouse and two-time defending Division III champion Herkimer County CC.

The Timberwolves, who finished with an overall 15-2 record, made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament before falling to eventual Region III champion Herkimer 2-0.

T-wolves Goalie Robert Sprague and defenseman Thomas Debenham were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Coleman Akey of Saratoga Springs, NY, is a member of the 2012 Timberwolf squad.

Striker J.J. Naiwo was named MVCC Player of the Year, while third-year coach Damien Jepson garnered MVCC Coach of the Year honors.

In addition to Naiwo, the Timberwolves placed midfielders Joe Boulter and Thomas Nocito and defender Thomas Debenham on the All-Conference Team.
