Benjamin Neadle of Hudson Falls will display work at student photography exhibition April 30 to May 2

2013 Apr 22

Photography by SUNY Adirondack student Benjamin Neadle of Hudson Falls will be displayed in "Organized Chaos," an exhibition of work by Dr. Renee O'Brien's Intermediate Photography class, from April 30 through May 2 in the SUNY Adirondack Student Center.

A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 5 p.m.

The Student Center is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

"Organized Chaos" is the culminating project for this class. Students in this class have completed at least one course in photography and have demonstrated proficiency in digital photography and the digital darkroom. Intermediate Photography builds upon technique, aesthetics, and creative expression in the photographic arts.

In preparation for their photographs, students research the work of a variety of master photographers. They also study contemporary photography as an art form and the ways in which the artist-photographer-imagemaker builds upon the integrity of the photographic image, and at other times breaks boundaries.

The title of this exhibition reflects the challenges students face to center their photographic vision, and the photographic conundrum of the twenty-first century camera world.
